六O年代，我們有「披頭四」。來到了二十一世紀，五名來自波士頓的帥氣大男孩－－「5次方樂團」（The Click Five），流著高貴柏克萊音樂血統、演奏親民的流行搖滾，準備在全世界發光。

時序推回到2008年五月二十三日的深夜，三千人自台北國際會議中心魚貫湧出，鬧轟轟的散場聲，透著一股興奮的騷動。這群人裡，荳蔻少女的面孔佔了八成，臉頰泛著潮紅，咯咯笑著討論著這一場來自美國波士頓的－－「5次方樂團」（The Click Five）－－剛舉行的演唱會。對於近年來國外偶像團體風潮式微的台灣，其實頗為罕見。

MTV亞洲採訪了Kyle和Ben，談及他們在地下室居住的怪習、矛盾和輪椅競賽。

 

2005年，一支帥氣的五人組樂隊用一張《Greetings From Imrie House》的專輯打進了流行樂壇的大門。你知道我在說誰嗎？當然是5次方樂團(The Click Five)，樂隊用《Just The Girl》、《Good Day》和《Pop Princess》等一系列電台風行的歌曲征服了歌迷。少男少女們開始瘋狂收集他們的歌曲。

 

兩年後，迷人的男孩們捲土重來，發行了新專輯《Modern Minds And Pastimes》。Kyle Patrick成為樂隊新主唱。組合再度出版了一張專輯珍品，其中儘是令人癡迷的流行搖滾，表現出更鮮明、更強有力的音樂風格。眾多冠軍單曲接踵而來，讓The Click Five成為名副其實的流行音樂王子！

韓國組合Super Junior、女歌手Leona Lewis、舞蹈組合Jabbawockeez、樂隊OneRepublic、Panic at the Disco、The Click Five及The Script將擔任於8月2 日舉行的2008 MTV亞洲大獎表演嘉賓。MTV樂迷可於當晚欣賞入選歌手及樂隊的精彩表演。角逐《最具突破歌手獎》的Leona Lewis及OneRepublic的音樂事業在今年都有了突破性的發展──英國唱作女歌手Leona Lewis的首張專輯《Spirit》不但獲國際樂評家的讚賞，更登上英國及美國大碟榜榜首，因而一鳴驚人；OneRepublic樂隊亦超越去年成績，第二張專輯《Stop and Stare》銷量超過二百萬張。

 

《最佳音樂錄像帶歌手獎》的候選樂隊Panic at the Disco曾經以“I Write Sins Not Tragedies”在《2006 MTV音樂錄像帶大獎》上勇奪《年度最佳錄像帶》大獎。這次，Panic at the Disco將會與獲得《韓國最受歡迎歌手獎》提名的當紅組合Super Junior一起表演；勁歌熱舞肯定會讓大家極盡視覺享受。

 

剛在東南亞、香港、臺北及日本完成首個巡回演唱會的The Click Five將為觀眾帶來悅耳的流行金曲。美國最棒的舞蹈組合Jabbawockeez的獨特舞技亦將令觀眾大開眼界。The Script將演唱佢們的熱播單曲“We Cry”。2008 MTV亞洲大獎的眾多表演嘉賓們將分別獻唱hip hop、搖滾、pop及R&B歌曲，匯集所有音樂種類於一晚，定能帶給觀眾難忘的一夜。
